Education philosophy

Our school has consistently been one of the highest performing private schools in El Paso ever since we opened our doors.  We have an unwavering commitment to educating children well starting right from the beginning.  Like a jigsaw puzzle, individual topics in each subject are meant to fit together a certain way.  We believe that these ‘puzzle pieces’ need regular reinforcement, refinement, and alignment so that they stay well-connected and form a solid foundation for higher learning.

Since the mind is more than intellect, we also believe in educating the whole person.  Our core curriculum emphasizes knowledge and reasoning from a Biblical world view, but we supplement that core curriculum with physical activity, liberal arts, and character training so that our students are well-rounded.

Foundation of truth

We believe that all learning starts with the good news about Jesus Christ’s unique life, death, and resurrection to redeem mankind.  This good news informs everything else about who we are, why we learn, and how we are to live.  We know that this good news is true because Jesus himself says that the Bible is truth itself, not just a collection of true things.  With this as our basis for truth, all other subjects in life can be rightly understood, prioritized, and seen in correct relationship to other subjects.

Curriculum

We use A Beka for our core curriculum. The A Beka Book approach to education keeps learning lively, interesting, and memorable. The materials reflect sensible theory that is firmly anchored to practicality. Skilled researchers do primary research in every subject. Thus A Beka Book publications are built upon a firm foundation of absolute truth and sound scholarship, and are written by dedicated and talented scholars well grounded in the practical aspects of classroom teaching. For excellence in education, you can trust A Beka Book.

Teachers

We have excellent teachers who are well-qualified and who genuinely love the students.  Most of our teachers have been with us for many years.  You can more about each of them on our teachers page.

Assessing Results

The highest performing privates schools can opt to take nationally standardized tests for a broader basis of comparison than just their city or state.  We use the Stanford Achievement Test for grades K-8 to assess how well our students are doing compared to national standards.

Our very high test scores speak for themselves. CFCS is not only one of the highest performing private schools in El Paso, but it also outperforms most schools nationally.
